Bio
Matt Elhardt truly is a model citizen. He helps old ladies walk across the street. He picks up litter whenever he sees it on the ground. Heck, he’d even lend you a dollar if you needed it. Matt also likes to help great brands do great things, and he has picked up more than his fair share of creative awards in the process. Fresh out of college, this kid helped reinvigorate the Coca-Cola brand at Fallon McElligott, and pitched in on the award-winning Children’s Defense Fund work and the Northwest Airlines account. From there he took his craft to Hunt/Adkins, Minneapolis where he worked on a bunch of fun stuff including Rohöl Liquer, Rev 105 Radio, Cape Cod Potato Chips and Mystic Lake Casino. In 1996, Matt moved to Wieden + Kennedy, Portland, where he returned to the Coca-Cola business and created some of Barq’s Root Beer’s, Nike’s and ESPN’s most memorable work.
After spending some time traveling and freelancing in southeast Asia, Matt moved to San Francisco in 1999 and spent a couple years working on Adidas, CNET and KQED Public Television at Leagas Delaney. After a year-and-a-half at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (HP, Oakland A’s and Saturn), he went to Publicis & Hal Riney as a VP/Associate Creative Director on Sprint, Hewlett-Packard, Jamba Juice and all of their new business efforts.
In 2005, Matt moved to TBWA\Chiat\Day, New York where he was group creative director on the Sprint/Nextel, Embassy Suites, American Century Investments and Stonyfield Yogurt accounts. He has been freelancing on Madison Avenue ever since.
Despite Recognition at the One Show, the Art Director’s Club, Cannes, D&Ad, Andy Awards, CA and Clio awards, Matt has no idea where all these trophies are because he gave them to his mom. She’s pretty nice, too.
